ASK Network’s is one, reflecting His creativity, His love for every nation and His extraordinary grace that includes us in His plans and purposes.
ASK grew out of a group of people who had prayed together for years, each from unique circumstances in different nations. We learned to pray by meditating in the Word of God and discerning His will. God gave us a heart to gather all who would come, sharing the joy we found in ASKing from His Word. Jesus said, “ASK that your joy may be full!” (John 16:24).
In 2008 we set aside 21 days to fast and worship. Yes, just worship! Each day we meditated on a chapter out of John’s gospel—21 chapters for 21 days. Praise arose through what He showed us about Himself each day.
At the end of those 21 days, in five different ways God clearly spoke the name “ASK” to us. That made sense as Jesus said “ask” repeatedly (six times in all) at the Last Supper (John 14:13, 14:14,15:7, 16:23, 16:24, 16:26). A simple but powerful and intimate way to pray is to ask! We loved that and knew we were to be called ASK. But there was more.
We wanted to welcome ALL who would come, gathering others just as Jesus would have done. We also knew that asking for the nations was our reason to gather. We would not gather to ask for our own concerns, but for God’s. We wanted to declare our dependency on Him, acknowledging the One who answers. We wanted to declare our unity with those already praying in nations and acknowledge our own need for the Body of Christ worldwide. A vision statement defining ASK Network was then born:
Gathering all generations to pray for all nations,
ASKing God to do what only He can do,
and doing whatever He asks of us.
As we listen to our faithful God speaking to us through His incredible Word, He leads us one step at a time. We gather in our communities, we gather in key locations for specific purposes, we gather on national and international zooms, we travel in our own nations and to other nations to ASK!
Our foundation is the Word of God, our roof is Worship, our walls are ALL nations and ALL generations. The values of this house are belief, expectation, acceptance, deliverance, humility, reconciliation, affirmation, healing, life, prayerfulness, intimacy, unity, truth and anointing.
We seek to equip those who would gather. Teaching resources are available in different languages. We prioritize the development of relationships within continents. The 2020 pandemic added Zoom to our gatherings, which facilitates our gatherings across national borders, and across time zones. We gather to ASK wherever, whenever and however, for whoever. What a new freedom we have found! Yet this freedom brings new responsibilities. We receive this gift as if our lives depended on it, because others’ lives do.
We are living in extraordinary times, some say the ‘end of time.’ In Matthew chapters 23-25, Jesus warned us that things will not be easy. Despite what was happening in the nations, He said, “See to it that you are not alarmed” (Matthew 24:6). We need to ASK for the nations now more than ever because “this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14). Until that end, our task is to ask.
